red, white, & blue

Happy 4th of July!!

Wishing you fun times on this day of rememberance and celebration.
I had fun with my 2 favorite gals.  Turns out that commercial about organic chocolate ice cream really works – Lilly’s big sister made a request and was convinced it was the best chocolate ice cream ever.

So, like Lilly, may you have a delightful frosty treat.  And should something new make you shy (even if it’s a little sparkler), may you find the courage to conquer it.

We’re going to the chapel, and…

Reyn and David are gonna get married!  Very, very soon, actually…

We went to Marietta Square to get a few pictures of them as an engaged couple, but in another couple of weeks that will have changed!
Looking forward to seeing you both again very soon…!

Newborn Workshop

I mentioned a few posts ago that I recently took a “newborn photography workshop”, led by Jaiden Photography.  In fact, I flew all the way to Seattle to do so!  (It’s possible that I had been looking for an excuse to go to Seattle…   hello, Seattle!)

Well, Stephanie Knowles (of Jaiden Photography) is a complete expert with newborns.  She can get them to sleep like no mother I’ve ever seen.  And then she knows just the right angles to capture them at.  She showed us all her posing techniques (which happened very quickly and looked like magic to me), and then we were able to take our own pictures.  I’ve gone through mine and just given them a quick edit, and these are the results.  a 4-day-old Jake, 8-day-old Bryce, and 12-day-old Kayleigh.

Thanks again to the fabulous Stephanie!  One last thing I learned from her…  when working with all these babies, and all the things you need to go with them… I see why so many newborn photographers hire assistants.  One of those would definitely come (or, as you can see here, two or three…)

3 amigos!

These kids know how to party!   Cupcakes, sombreros, play-sets, bubbles, friends, chaos!

So glad I got to be there for the 3rd year in a row as they celebrated their 3rd birthdays!!  They’re getting so big.  They’re more aware (in one case more likely to attempt a smile for the camera, in other more likely to hide from the attention of the singing, as opposed to the first year, when he just sat there and stuffed himself full of cake.)  Still little, though.  As you will see, it was not easy to herd them together to all be in one photograph – there was too much fun going on.

Happy birthday, to J, S, and W!   Wishing a big year full lots of good new things for all of you.

Off to college..!

These brothers were so much fun.  Only 5 and 3, and already so bright and energetic and charming.  We went to the site of where their parents first met for some family pictures – the Georgia Tech campus.  And there we frolicked and were silly, and photos were taken.  🙂

Enjoy the preview!  Thanks for helping me be goofy that day… 😉
