weekend with the girls (and a few of their little ones, too)

I need a weekend to just work on photos, but I haven’t been able to find it this month.  So while I’m trying to get caught up, I’m going to post bits of why I wasn’t working this past weekend – I was off enjoying a weekend with girl friends from college!

Six of us met up in Richmond, Virginia, and I stayed with my college roommates in a cozy condo one of them keeps downtown – for their weekends into the city.   Despite the snow last Friday, I made it in without any problems, and stayed enjoyed the view of the city from the warmth inside.

On Monday I was at the Virginia home with one of the girl’s, where I got a quick peak at her 3 children – ages 7, 5, and 1.  I got beaten multiple times in fusbol by the 5-year-old, enjoyed questioning the 7-year-old about his six girlfriends, and tried not to scare the baby girl, who seemed to fear that I was a new babysitter.

The visit was quick, and I didn’t plan any photos with the kids, but I couldn’t help take some, either.  Like when the 5 year old got his first chess lesson just before bed Sunday night – complete with socks on his hands to help him from irritating his eczema in his sleep.  Or when he got home from pre-K and went straight to his homework with adult-like concentration.  And since their baby girl just turned 1, I tried to snap some quick ones of her, but waited until I was about to leave for the airport!  So just a few of her playing in then den.

It was a good visit with great friends.  Now I’m home and need to work on some wedding pictures…  Weddings, you are always so voluminous!
