What? It’s mid-January?

I had all this work I was going to do over “the holidays” – that’s how I kept thinking of it.  “The holidays”.  As if I were a student that was about to have a long break.  Where I could enjoy and celebrate and rest and also find the time to be productive at my leisure.

It didn’t work out like that.

In fact, I didn’t even take many photos that documented “the holidays”, but in the interest of putting *something* on this site, I’m posting some photos from 3 days over Christmas with the girls.  A few from Christmas eve and Christmas, and then playing with the visiting sisters next door just after Christmas.  Their mom and my sister were tight friends as little girls, and their 2 oldest are the same age as well.  When they first saw each other they did a running hug across the lawns.  I admit, it was pretty sweet.
After some playground time with them at the top of the street, I took my oldest neice on a little field trip to our old elementary school, where 1) She told me I could never make it to the top of the jungle gym because I was too old.  I got myself to the top of that jungle gym posthaste.  2) She asked to be spun and spun and spun – until she was too sick for the slushie stop on the way home.

Some every day photos from our holidays:

a hug for the water | still loves her bath | cheeks | all clean on Christmas Eve | modern message for Santa | feeding the baby | gift from a father| a girl and her truck | front yard acorn collection | 4 girls at play | school’s out | like their moms | counting helper | counting the harvest | having a laugh at her own expense | spin machine | spinning, climbing | Christmas at 4, 5, and 6 | silly girl

Playing with Sophie and Rosy was truly the highlight of the Holidays for Sara Beth. I love it when these friends can get together. It brings back memories of their moms.
